On-arrival

Welcome to Australia

If you are referred to the HSP directly through the Humanitarian Program the following services are available to you on arrival:

• Any immediate language, cultural and religious, nutritional, hygiene, clothing and footwear needs are met
• Transport to your accommodation, where you will undergo a property induction (including safety instructions)
• Any immediate health needs are met

Registration with essential services 

• Centrelink 
• Medicare
• The bank

Learning and orientation

• School-aged children enrolled in mandatory education
• Learning about Australian culture and customs
• Learning about the law
